Presents the confusion among consumers and consumer advocates in the U.S. due to the failure of the latter to acquire the trust of the former. Inability of the regulatory mechanism, judicial process, organized consumer groups, and industry self-regulation to protect the consumer; Proposals to restore balances in information, bargaining power and adjudication, and remedy and relief between the consumer and the producer.
