Choosing the Right Change Path

There are eight different change paths, or ways in which managers can intervene to effect change. Of these eight paths, seven have to do with reducing the forces of resistance inside the organization. Managers can choose the most appropriate path by answering a series of questions about the forces of change and resistance. A simple graphical tool called a change arena can be used to diagram these change paths.
