Abstract

The personnel function is changing rapidly and its responsibilities are being redefined. The personnel specialist must become increasingly oriented toward growth and efficiency of the organization instead of merely administering traditional personnel activities. Greater emphasis will be placed upon planning the structure of the future organization and its personnel requirements, identifying and selecting personnel to meet these expected needs, developing and utilizing the organization's human resources, and assessing and rewarding performance.
