Speak and Spend: Voice AI in E-Commerce

Abstract
Firms that adopted a voice shopping channel experienced an immediate surge in customer spending. This article shows that consumers who started using a smart speaker for purchases increased their weekly online spending by about 16.6% in the first four months. Crucially, the growth was not just a one-time spike – voice AI helped form new habits that kept these customers spending more in the long run.
